Starting this fall, the college will offer master’sw degrees in literacy sport administration andeducational administration. The three programs join the onlinse master’s program in physical education, whicy has been offered by the college since early 2006, said Jim Bagwell, director of graduatee admissions for the School of Education and Huma n Services. All three programs are gearede toward students who live outside Western New though some space is availabld forlocal students. Bagwelo declined to say how many spots will be set asidwe forlocal students. The programs begin 14, three weeks after the Aug. 24 start date for the rest of the Bagwell said.
The literacy education program prepares literacgy specialists for certification in NewYork state, whilw the sport administration programk focuses on sports-related business, such as intercollegiate athletics, amateur and professional sports marketing firms, special-event management and facility the college said. Students in the education administrationm program will receive a School BuildinygLeader and/or School District Leader certificatioj in New York state. Each of the new onlinwe programs also existas traditional, on-campus programs.
