The program is a year-long business growtbh marathon designed tohelp women-owned businesses grow and create jobs. Women can choose their own pace for theier 2009 businessrevenue goal: $250,000, $500,000, or $1 milliomn or more. The judging criteriq include both quantitative business metrics as well as qualitative assessmentsd ofbusiness potential. The Grand Prizs winner will receivea $100,000 cash prize and a year of advertising and media opportunities.
Runner-up winners from all 50 stated and in 15 business sectors will receive a prizre packageincluding one-on-one business coaching, technologyt products, media exposure, access to new markets, and productas and services to help them managd their families and households. Racers will also gain valuablee perspectives on entrepreneurship and its criticalk rolein today’s economy from Count Me In founder and chief executive officer Nell Merlino’s businesw blog at www.readersdigest.com. The Partnership Institute, a consultinvg firm, wants to give San Antonio students who have an interest in the performingt arts an opportunity to attenc anupcoming concert. The institute is a sponsor of the Kennuy Garrett Quartet Concert which will be held in San Antoni oon Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Charlinse McCombs Empire Theatre. Institute officialz are lookingto organizations, business leaders and corporations to help studente attend the performance. The goal is to choosew five students from each area middlee and high school inthe Northside, North East and San Antoniop independent school districts to attenfd the concert.
Those students should be enrolle in music classes and have grades whicjh place them in the top percentile in theifrespective classes. Cost to sponsor a student is $20.
